September: A Time for Connection and Change with T.H.A. Godmother

Celebrating Our Summer Journey

September is here, but for T.H.A. Godmother, the summer was electric! From the streets of New York to the hearts of families, we were out in full force—connecting, serving, and building bridges across every borough we could reach.

Our monthly food and resource distributions kept us busy, meeting the needs of countless families. But this summer was about so much more than food. From downtown Manhattan to Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, we were on the move—learning, training, connecting, and bringing real support where it’s needed most.

Family Fun in the South Bronx

In the South Bronx, we joined probation for a day of family fun. We gave out supplies, shared resources, and educated families about their rights. We discussed important topics like 504 modifications, IEPs, and plans for their children. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and community spirit.

Strengthening Bonds in the North Bronx

The North Bronx welcomed us too! We collaborated with BNHS to strengthen families. Connecting with local organizations was key. We wanted to ensure everyone felt supported. Together, we created a network of resources that families can rely on.

Empowering Through Education in Manhattan

Over in downtown Manhattan, it was all about training, training, training. Every workshop, every session, every lesson was for one purpose—to serve our families better. We aimed to bring stronger resources and stay informed. Our goal is to ensure the communities we advocate for remain educated and empowered.

Embracing Community Culture in Brooklyn and Queens

And then there’s Brooklyn and Queens—two boroughs that taught us so much about community culture. From attending symposiums to savoring the incredible local food, we loved on our neighbors. Connecting with other change-makers helped us learn how to best support their unique needs.

An Open Invitation to Staten Island

Now, Staten Island, we haven’t forgotten you! We just need your invitation. If there’s a place you want us to visit or a project you need help with, we’ll be there—ready to roll up our sleeves and make a difference.
